LASER BEAM MACHINE AND LASER BEAM PROCESSING METHOD

PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency and to shorten processing time by simultaneously processing plural points by using the direct incident light of laser light and the reflected light from a work. CONSTITUTION:The linearly polarized laser light 10 from a laser oscillator 9 is condensed by a condenser lens 11 and the 1st thermally processing part 14 of a base material 13 is irradiated with this laser light in such a manner that the focus 12 parts from the processing part 14. The incident angle of the laser light 10 is so selected that the 2nd processing part 16 is irradiated by the reflected light 15 thereof. The focal length of the condenser lens 11 and the position of the condenser lens 11 are so determined that the average energy density absorbed in the 1st processing part 14 by a scanning means 19 and the absorption energy density in the 2nd processing part 16 of the reflected light 15 are made nearly the same. Complication of the processing system is averted in this way and the efficiency of utilizing the laser is enhanced.
