PURPOSE:To obtain the title record-reproducing head having abrasion-resisting property and high permeability by a method wherein an alloy, having the prescribed recrystallized texture, is formed from the material containing Ni, NbP and S of the prescribed weight percentage and the remaining part consisting of Fe and a small quantity of impurities. CONSTITUTION:Ni of 60 to 90wt.%, Nb of 0.5 to 14wt.%, P and S of 0.001 to 1wt.% in total (provided that S is 0.1wt.% or less, and P and S are not contained), and the remaining part containing Fe in proper quantity, are melted in an Ar atmosphere. Cr, Mo, Ge and Au of 7wt.% or less in total, Co and V of 10wt.% or less, W is 15wt.% or less, Cu, Ta and Mn of 25wt.% or less, the specific metal such as Al and the like and rare-earth and Pt of 5% or less in total, the specific metal such as Be and the like of 3wt.% or less, and B of 1wt.% or less are added thereto in total weight percent of 0.01 to 30. A dioxidation agent C is added if necessary, and a uniformly fused alloy is formed. After an ingot has been hot- processed, a prescribed heating-cooling treatment is conducted at a regular/irregular transformation point at about 600 deg.C. According to this constitution, an alloy having an effective permeability of 3000 or higher, saturated magnetic flux density of 4000 or higher, and recrystallized texture {110}<112>+{311}<112> can be obtained. This alloy has a high abrasion-resisting property and a high permeability, and it is suitable for a magnetic head. |
