Method for preparing for the removal of an articulation fault on a toothed human jaw of a patient. A model of the jaw is taken. The patient's lip gap is measured, and this, together with the course of the ear/nose plane of the patient, is marked on the maxillary part of the model. On the maxillary part of the model, the incisors are ground on the basis of the marking or are built up with additional material, so that the lower edge of the incisors agrees with the marking of the lip gap. For the purpose of determining the desired orientation of the articulation plane extending parallel to the ear/nose plane, a suitably chosen auxiliary measurement plate is attached to the aligned maxillary part of the model, which plate, in the area of the posterior teeth, has impression recesses and a tuber strip. Thereafter, a set of measurement plates corresponding to the auxiliary measurement plate set and having tuber strips corresponding to the tuber strips of the auxiliary measurement plates are used to select the measurement plate corresponding to the suitable auxiliary measurement plate and the model is ground on the basis of this measurement plate. …<IMAGE>… |
