<p>PURPOSE:To make improvements in output torque by installing an interconnecting passage interconnecting high speed intake passages with each other, and also installing an interconnecting on-off valve, being opened or closed at a time different from that of a secondary valve being installed interposingly between these high speed intake passages, in the midway, in a device which is provided with both low- and high-speed intake passages. CONSTITUTION:In a V-type six cylinder engine, an intake manifold 5 consists of a manifold body part 5a and an independent intake passage 5b, and this manifold body part 5a consists of respective high-speed and low-speed intake passages 11, 13 at the front side and high-speed and low-speed intake passages 12, 14 at the rear side. In this case, there is provided with an interconnecting passage 15 which connects each downstream side end of these intake passages at the front side to that of these intake passages 12, 14 at the rear side, and an interconnecting on-off valve 16 is set up in the midway. Then, this on-off valve 16 is opened or closed at a time different from that of secondary valves 21a, 21b being installed to open or close the high-speed intake passages 11, 12, and thereby excellent resonance and inertial effects are brought into full play.</p> |
