PURPOSE:To reduce spacing between a main magnetic pole and a medium and to attain high density recording by providing a means to adjust the direction of a main magnetic pole film surface in a head for magnetic recording to a medium surface for perpendicular magnetic recording. CONSTITUTION:A vertical two-layer medium to be composed of a soft magnetic layer 1 and a perpendicular magnetic layer 2 and a main magnetic pole exciting type head to be composed of a main magnetic pole 3, a ferrite 4 and a coil 5 are provided. A spherical slider 6 is loaded on an upper carriage 12 and the upper carriage 12 and a lower carriage 11 can be rotated with a shaft 7 as a center. Accordingly, by revolving an adjusting screw 10 while observing a reproducing output, the main magnetic pole film surface can be adjusted in a direction to enough reduce the spacing between the main magnetic pole 3 and the magnetic layer body 2. Thus, the spacing between the main magnetic pole film surface and medium is enough reduced and the high density recording can be executed. |
