PURPOSE:To increase the number of rows of scanning electrode groups and number of displaying gradation levels produced by controlling the number of pulses so as to realize high-quality displays by dividing a scanning electrode group into plural blocks to which scanning signals are supplied in parallel with each other and also dividing a data electrode group into plural blocks in corresponding to the scanning electrode group. CONSTITUTION:Since a scanning electrode group x1-xn is divided into plural blocks X11-X1n...X41-X4n to which scanning signals are supplied in parallel with each other and a data electrode group y1-ym is divided into plural groups Y11- Y14...Ym1-Ym4 corresponding to the scanning electrode group, the scanning time required for displaying one picture can be reduced to fractions thereof and the access time of one row can be made faster by plural-fold when independent displaying data signals are supplied to and displayed in the divided plural data electrode blocks Y11-Y14...Ym1-Ym4. Therefore, the number of the rows of the scanning electrode group x1-xn and the number of displaying gradation levels to be produced by controlling the number of pulses can be increased and the displaying quality can be improved. |
