<p>PURPOSE: To enable mount and dismount to be easily done by forming wedge lock elements on one of the flanges and lips on the other flange respectively and connecting by means of a C-shaped clamp in a connection suitable for abutting flanges of a jet engine and exhaust nozzle, etc. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of holes are formed circumferentially on the lower half of a vertical annular flange 18 arranged at the rear end of a jet engine 12, and a plurality of wedge lock elements 28 are formed on the upper half thereof. The wedge lock elements 28 are formed to be rectangular or square, having a flat outer surface 30 and tapered angular ends 32, 34. An annular exhaust nozzle flange 36 is formed at the front end of an exhaust nozzle 14 along its entire circumference. A leg 38 having a T-shaped cross-section including a transverse lip 44 is formed on the upper half thereof. When the two flanges 18, 36 are to be locked, a lock spring 46 with a plurality of wedge lock elements 54 formed on its inner surface 48 is used, and the two flanges 18, 36 are connected by a C-shaped clamp 66.</p> |
