ELEVATED EXPRESS-HIGHWAY TRAVELLING RECOGNITION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a travelling environment recognition whether or not a vehicle is under travelling on an elevated express-highway by deciding as under the travelling on the elevated express-highway when a prescribed travelling condition is satisfied. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed detection means detects a vehicle speed during a vehicle travelling and a vehicle height detection means detects a vehicle height. A clock means clocks a time from when the detected vehicle height comes to a prescribed value or more until the vehicle height next comes to the prescribed value or more ad a travelling distance operation means operates a vehicle travelling distance during the clocking from the clocking and a mean vehicle speed under the clocking to be obtained by the detected vehicle speed. When the obtained travelling distance is almost equal to the value of the pre scribed number of times, the elevated express-highway decision means decides that the vehicle is under the travelling on the elevated express-highwy.
