EXPRESS-HIGHWAY TRAVELLING RECOGNITION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a travelling environment recognition whether or not a vehicle is under travelling on an exress-highway by deciding that the vehicle is under travelling on the express-highway when a prescribed travelling condition is satisfied in relation to another vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed detection means detects a vehicle speed during a vehicle travelling and a vehicle speed decision means discriminates whether or not the detected vehicle speed is a prescribed speed or faster. A relative vehicle speed between the vehicle itself and another vehicle in the vicinity of the vehicle itself is detected with a relative vehicle speed detection means when the detected vehicle speed is discriminated as the prescribed speed or faster and a clock means clocks when the detected relative vehicle speed is the prescribed speed or slower. It is decided that the vehicle is under travelling on the express-highway by an express-highway decision means when the clocking comes to the prescribed time or more. Thus, the reliability of the travelling environment recognition whether or not the vehicle is under the travelling on the express-highway can be improved.
