PURPOSE:To make simple the construction of the whole fence and, at the same time, to obtain easily an soundproofing effect by erecting a first wall consisting of a rigid body to the side of a road and constructing continuously a second wall constituted of a plurality of slits at vertical intervals in the horizontal direction upward of the first wall. CONSTITUTION:A first wall 1 consisting of a rigid body is erected up to a place higher than a place where a traveling car as a sound source (S) passes by. After that, a second wall 2 constituted of a plurality of slits a1 - a6 at vertical intervalin the horizontal direction is constructed continuously upward of the first wall 1 to form a soundproof fence (X). Among the sound waves propagating from the sound source (S) to a sound receiving point (R), the second wall 2 reduces a noise level of a region (I) located downward from an extension line of the straight line connecting between the traveling car and the lower end of the slit a1 located downward of the lowest by mutual interference action between a sound wave coming round to the sound receiving point (R) side across the top (t) of the soundproof fence (X) and sound wave passing by each of the slits a1 - a6. According to the constitution, ventilation or a vista is improved and, at the same time, a soundproofing effect can be improved. |
