Lateral shaking device for a machine for harvesting berries or fruits carried by plants, and more particularly for a grape harvesting machine, of the type including a straddling tunnel through which the vegetation passes in step with the advancement of the machine, and a reciprocating lateral shaking assembly arranged in the said tunnel, including at least two shakers, arranged symmetrically on either side of the row of vegetation, each shaker member being given a reciprocating to-and-fro movement, characterised in that each shaking member 5 is folded over on itself by approximately 180 DEG , having a shape similar to that of a hairpin, the two ends of the shaker member pointing forwards. <IMAGE>
