PURPOSE:To make measurement with high accuracy by connecting a capacitor for charge collection in series to electrodes which crimp a charge transfer material and measuring the charge quantity generated as a carrier moves as the voltage value of the capacitor. CONSTITUTION:After a specified pulse voltage is impressed between the electrodes 6 and 7 crimping the charge transfer material 1, the material 1 is irradiated with pulse light by a light source 10 from one surface of the material to generate the carrier in the surface of the material 1. The voltage between the electrodes 6 and 7 is decreased to 0 after the prescribed time and the carrier is stopped in the material 1. The voltage is impressed again between the electrodes after the prescribed time to generate the electric field and to move the carrier to the electrode 7 on the side opposite to the side irradiated with the light. After the inter-electrode voltage is decreased to 0, the charge quantity induced in the electrode 7 is determined by measuring the voltage of the capacitor 30 connected in series to the electrode 7, and the life of the carrier is measured from this voltage value. The charges are collected to the capacitor and are measured as the voltage value in such a manner and, therefore, the charge quantity is exactly measured. |
