PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming device in which a document is accurately and stably carried by an automatic document feeder by mounting a reinforcing plate on the document carrying means side of the back surface of a document pressure plate and coupling one edge of the reinforcing plate with a hinge mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The reinforcing plate 22 is mounted along the original conveying roller side of the back surface of the document pressing plate 3 and one end part 23 of the reinforcing plate 22 is linked with the hinge mechanism 12. Therefore, when the document pressing plate 3 is opened/closed with respect to the image forming device main body 2 and the document pressing plate 3 is lifted upward, the reinforcing plate 22 uniformly and firmly fixed on the document pressing plate 3 by a firmly-fixing means 16 is turned around the hinge mechanism 12 as a center, the mounting plate 17 is turned around the axis 21 of the hinge mechanism 12, and the document pressing plate 3 is opened. Therefore, force loaded on the hinge mechanism 12 actuates only the reinforcing plate 22 and is not transmitted to the document pressing plate 3. Thus, the warping and the bending of the document pressing plate 3 can be prevented simultaneously while contriving cost reduction and weight lightening.
