PURPOSE:To obtain a color polarizing plate with superior polarizing performance and durability by adding a specified dichromatic dye to an org. polymer film or sheet. CONSTITUTION:To an org. high molecular compound selected from polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl chloride, partially dehydrochlorinated polyvinyl chloride, polyamide and polyester is added 0.01-5wt% of >=1 kind of dichromatic dye having no water-soluble group selected from azo, anthraquinone, thioindigo, perylene and phthalon dyes. They are melted, kneaded and molded, and the resulting filmlike or sheetlike molded body is stretched to obtain a color polarizing plate having several-several 10mum thickness. A protective film with superior optical transparency and physical strength is then formed on one side or both sides of the polarizing plate. |
