The patent application relates to an ampoule for the needleless injection of medicaments, comprising a rigid front plate and a soft membrane containing the medicament. A plunger which is pretensioned by a spring abruptly injects the liquid through one or more holes in the front plate. The essential feature is the design of the front plate as a protecting screen against transmission of infectious substances to the injection pistol.
