Device for the removal of soil samples with a soil auger from three soil depths for soil investigations

The device, which is mounted on a tractor, has a soil auger which rotates vertically in the manner of a screw into the soil. By interrupting the downward movement while the soil auger rotates further, a cylindrical shaft is produced in the soil, while the earth expelled by the soil auger is pressed firmly between the threads of the soil auger. After raising the soil auger out of the cylindrical shaft, the earth is automatically removed from the threads by means of a wiping-off device and falls separately (0-30 cm, 30-60 cm, 60-90 cm) into the bucket arranged in stages. In the case of a frozen soil surface, at the position at which the soil auger will later be rotated into the soil, the soil is first drilled into with an earth boring drill.
