A closure device for moulds for the prodn. of thermoplastic components esp. injection moulds, includes two mould tensioning plates which are guided on two guide bars, a closure motor, a pressure bar and a frame unit. Each of the two moveable members of the equalisation unit can locate with the mould tensioning plate. The moveable members locate onto the plate with a spacing from the centre of the guide bar which is less than the central spacing of the mould halves. ADVANTAGE - The device is simple and economical, and is light in construction.
