The invention is based on the object of creating an optical switch which ensures parallel motion of the optical waveguide ends to be coupled and is insensitive with respect to disturbances such as temperature fluctuations and shocks (vibrations). The object is achieved in that two parts (1, 11) having mutually aligned cylindrical outer surfaces are provided in the switch, on the circumference of which parts grooves (4) are provided for accommodating optical waveguides. One of the parts (11) is mounted so as to be rotatable. This moving part (11) has a central conical hole (12) which is pressed by means of spring force onto a conical bearing bolt (pin) (2) which is constructed of integral design with the other cylindrical part (1). This results in a playfree, temperature-compensated bearing. Bearing webs (16) are provided to reduce friction. The switch described can be used wherever particularly high demands are placed on the switch in terms of safety from vibrations and temperature stability. <IMAGE>
