<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> represents H or amino-protecting group; R<2> represents H or OH-protecting group; R<3> represents H or carboxyl-protecting group) and salt thereof. EXAMPLE:7beta-{2-(2-Aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-[(Z)-hydroxyimino]acetamido}- 3-(2- pyridylmethylthio)-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid. USE:An antibacterial agent having a wide range of antibacterial spectrum and superior antibacterial activity with low toxicity. PREPARATION:First, a compound expressed by formula II (R<4> represents amino- protecting group) is reacted with NaSH and the resultant 3-mercapto derivative is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (X represents halogen) to form a compound expressed by formula IV. Then an amino-protecting group at the 7-position of the compound is removed to form a compound expressed by formula V, which is reacted with a compound expressed by formula VI in the presence of a condensing agent.</p> |
