<p>A process for the production of a non-aqueous dispersion-type resin having a uniform particle size, which comprises uniformly polymerising in a first organic solvent, the polymerisation solvent, a vinyl monomer or a mixture comprising at least 1% by weight of a vinyl monomer together with a reactive resin which is soluble in the polymerisation organic solvent and has a molecular weight of 2,000 or more, and then replacing the polymerisation organic solvent by a second organic solvent, the dispersion solvent, which is an aliphatic and/or alicyclic hydrocarbon-type organic solvent that does not dissolve the non-aqueous dispersion-type resin, such that phase inversion occurs and a non-aqueous dispersion is obtained, the vinyl monomer having a solubility parameter which differs by at least 1.1 from that of the dispersion solvent. The non-aqueous resin thus produced comprises particles which are highly stable to agglomeration when dispersed in a solvent.</p> |
