PURPOSE:To make a size compact and to reduce the cost by arranging a bias magnetic field generator and an optical head to one side face of a recording layer and irradiating and recording a light beam from the head through a throughhole of the magnetic field generator. CONSTITUTION:A luminous flux 7 irradiating from an optical head 2 is converged by an objective lens 8 and focused on a recording layer 1b of a magneto- optical disk 1. The lens 8 is subjected to focus movement control in the vertical direction against a facial deflection due to the rotation of the disk 1 so as to be focused accurately onto the layer 1b by an objective lens driving coil 9. A throughhole penetrated through the generator 3 is provided so that the axis of the luminous flux 7 is made nearly coincident with a bias magnetic field generation center axis (c) of the bias magnetic field generator 3. Since the interval between the generator 3 and the disk 1 is made constant by an elastic support member 5 independently of the rotation of the disk 1, a memory system with high reliability and less error is realized. Since the center axis of the generator 3 and the luminous flux 7 are arranged so as to be made coincident, the adjustment of the alignment or that after assembling are not required and the cost is reduced. |
