624,242. Hinges. CARRON CO., and McLELLAN, H. June 19, 1947, No. 16190. [Class 65 (ii)] In a hinge arrangement for doors of structures formed wholly or in part of panels, a marginal portion of a doorcarrying panel 1 is formed externally to present a curved depression 2 terminated at each end by an aperture, and a socketed hinge block 5 is attached to the inner face of the panel at each end of the depression with the socket in each block in register with the respective aperture. A marginal portion of the door is so curved as substantially to conceal the depression while the door is closed and to enter the depression while the door is open, and the hinge pin passes through webs at the ends of curved marginal portion and enters the sockets. A raised boss 8 on the panel enters a recess in the block and is engaged by a securing screw 12. |
