LOOM WITH PNEUMATIC WEFT INSERTION

The invention relates to a loom with pneumatic weft insertion where a number of individual support nozzles are arranged distributed across the weaving width. The loom contains a profile reed with a nose projecting from the front edge of the reed against the fell of the cloth. The support nozzles are constructed as flat jet nozzles and have a central reinforced core which is adjoined on either side by fan-like flat jets of reduced jet width. These flat jets each cover in the manner of a curtain a section of a space between the reed front edge and the nose, which acts as a guide channel for the weft thread to be inserted. The particular shape of the flat jets is brought about by a notch in the nozzle body of the support nozzles, in the centre of which is the jet exit opening and whose mutually oppositely extending branches flatten out toward their outer ends.
