The invention relates to a shaft sealing ring with a sealing part 3 moulded from sintered polytetrafluoroethylene semi-finished product. The pores of the sintered material are filled by an impregnation process with a filler at least in the region of the surface of the sealing part 3. This shaft sealing ring 1 is suitable preferably for sealing off aqueous liquids and, in particular, can be employed as a sealing ring in coolant pumps of internal combustion engines. <IMAGE>
