PURPOSE:To enhance image quality by applying vibration to an ink droplet charged with predetermined polarity by a vibration applying means to form ink mist and selectively bonding the ink mist to a recording medium corresponding to an image signal by an electric field applying means. CONSTITUTION:The ink from the nozzle 10 of an ink tank 7 is allowed to fall as an ink droplet D and introduced into a sealed box 11 through the opening part 12 thereof. The ink droplet D falls on the insulating plate 19 of the vibration applying means 4 to spread and is brought into contact with the linear electrode 21 on the insulating plate 19. Since high positive voltage is applied to the linear electrode 21 by a power supply G, the ink droplet spread on the insulating plate 19 is charged positively. At this time, ultrasonic vibration is applied to the ink droplet by the vibration applying means 4 and finely pulverized to become ink mist 22. When positive voltage is applied to the segment electrodes 28a, 28b... of a control electrode 23 corresponding to an image signal by a control circuit 29, the ink mist 22 is adhered to recording paper through slits 13, 27. |
