A rotary press for granulating or pelletising material of different types having a rotationally symmetrical drum which takes the form of a female mould and in the wall of which there are inserted through channels to permit the passage of pressed material from the inside to the outside and in the interior of which there is arranged a system of pressing elements which acts as a male mould and can be rotated in a centred fashion in the interior of the drum, the system of pressing elements being provided with means which strip the material from the inside wall of the drum in the region of the through channels and press it through the through channels, is characterised in that the drum takes the form of a sphere or a spherical rotary body (1), the through channels (2) are evenly distributed across most of the wall of the drum and the means of the system (5) of pressing elements extend across most of the inside wall of the drum (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
