PURPOSE: To reduce additional frictional resistance in a shield part without special sliding guide mechanism by installing a water deflector movable together with a sliding cover, on the underside of a gap in a rear edge between this sliding cover and a fixed vehicle roof, and simultaneously making it movable on a guide rail together with a connecting arm. CONSTITUTION: In this extensible, multilayer structural shield covering a lateral gap lying between a sliding cover 2 and a rood frame 4, both front and rear guide shoes 7 and 8 movable on guide rails 6 at both sides of the roof frame 4 are installed in the sliding cover 2. In addition, a water deflector 20 interlocking with the sliding cover is installed on the underside of a gap in the rear edge between the sliding cover 2 and a fixed vehicle roof 1. Likewise, this water deflector 20 is made movable on the guide rails 6 by another guide shoe 19 on these guide rails 6, and simultaneously it is also connectible to the front guide shoes 7 by connecting arms 22 which are constructed as a shield. With this constitution, a shield part is made so as to be operable together with the water deflector 20 movable on the guide rails 6. |
