<p>A device for pivoting a pivotable structural member, e.g. a door, a flap or a hood of e.g. a car body, which is moveable along a track about a hinge, which pivoting is effected by means of magnet located along but at some distance outside the pivoting area of the structural member. The magnets are arranged via an air gap to exert a magnetic force, e.g. upon the lower edge, of the structural member. The magnets are moveable along a predetermined track or alternatively fixedly arranged in a pattern, such that on a relative movement between the car body and the magnets, the structural member is caused to undergo a pivoting movement about its hinge.</p> |
