PURPOSE:To transmit a rotary angle of an input shaft to an output shaft by the same ratio further enabling the smallness to be attained of size by forming a planetary gear mechanism with a sun gear connected to the output shaft, ring gear connected to a ring gear control means and the input shaft movable along between both the sun gear and the ring gear. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 17 is operated, rotation is transmitted to a carrier 33 through a column shaft 16, intermediate joint 15 and an input shaft 14b. Here a ring gear 32 receives operational force tending to rotate, but because force, generated in a control valve 23 trying to return the ring gear 32 always to the original position, acts as the operation reaction force on the ring gear 32, it is fixed with the rest of sun gear 31 in an output side. Since rotary ratio lambda is set to 0.5, by revolving pinions 34a, 34b on their own axis, an input rotary angle of the steering wheel 17 is transmitted being left as is to the sun gear 31 and to an input shaft 7a and a torsion bar 8 from an output shaft 14a. |
