PURPOSE:To prevent color mixture of undesired color without losing the reproducing performance of a highlight part of an original by increasing the reduction as the density is lower in the low density area in the input/output characteristic of the undesired color from a constant density to a low density and making the reduction nearly linear as a required color. CONSTITUTION:A hue detection circuit 2 detects whether a color of an original is in a hue region such as red, yellow, green, cyan, blue and magenta of a Mansel hue ring and when the circuit discriminates that the required color is yellow and the undesired color is magenta and cyan, the input/output characteristic of a yellow correction circuit 6 is made linear and the output density is reduced rapidly when the input density of the input output characteristic of a magenta corresponding circuit 5 and a cyan correction circuit 4 reaches a prescribed density or below. Thus, the undesired color is not mixed to the required color and the required color is reproduced up to a highlight part, that is, a light part. |
