PURPOSE:To provide a nitrile rubber composition containing a nitrile rubber, an organic cobalt-boron complex, zinc white, sulfur and, preferably further, magnesium oxide and bondable to brass by vulcanization bonding. CONSTITUTION:The objective rubber composition is composed mainly of a nitrile rubber and produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a nitrile rubber having an acrylonitrile content of 15-50% with (B) 0.05-10 pts.wt., preferably 0.1-0.5 pts.wt. (in terms of cobalt) of an organic cobalt-boron complex of formula (RCOO is carboxylic acid residue preferably having 6-20C atoms) as an adhesion promotor, (C) 20-40 pts.wt., preferably 30-40 pts.wt. of zinc white, (D) 2.5-4 pts.wt., preferably 3-4 pts.wt. of sulfur and preferably further (E) 0.5-10 pts.wt., preferably 1-5 pts.wt. of magnesium oxide. The vulcanization bonding of said composition to brass is carried out at 130-145 deg.C. |
