Hydroxyalkyl-phenoxy-propan-2-olamines of formula (I) including (S)- and (R)-enantiomers, and their salts are prepared. In (I), R is H or R5 -CO-; R5 is C1-5 alkyl; R1 is C1-5 alkyl; R2 is H or R5-CO; R3 and R4 are each H, C1-5 alkyl, C1-5 alkoxy, halo or cyano; n is 1-5. (I) are oculoselective beta-blockers useful for the treatment of an elevated intraocular pressure.
