<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the useless use of toner and to enable neat binding of a group of sheets by a method wherein when the sheet, forming a cover, of a group of sheets passes an image forming part, working of at least a bind toner forming means is prohibited. CONSTITUTION:A charge is applied on the surface of a sensitized substance drum 10 by means of an electrification charger 11, and an electrostatic latent image is formed by an optical system 30. A straight polarity charge is applied on the end part of a drum by means of a scrotron charger 20, and transfer to a sheet is effected by means of a developing device 12 and a transfer charger 16. After fixing, the sheets are conveyed from a discharge roller 48 to a sheet binding device 70. In this case, when the sheet, forming a cover, of a group of sheets is fed to a transfer part, working of the scrotron charger 20 is stopped. In the sheet binding device 70, the sheets are piled up on a tray 71, and a heat plate 76 is forced into pressure contact with the end part of the sheet by means of a bind signal to weld them together for binding. This constitution enables execution of excellent finish binding.</p> |
