PURPOSE:To improve the blade cleanability of the toner by applying mechanical impact force to the polymer particles in a liquid suspension to deform the particles. CONSTITUTION:A radical polymerizable monomer (e.g. styrene) prepd. by dispersing a carbon black and a powder charge control agent is dispersed in an aq. phase contg. a suspension stabilizer, such as polyvinyl alcohol, by which the monomer is polymerized and the liquid suspension contg. the truly spherical polymer particles is prepd. The mechanical impact force is then applied to the particles in the liquid suspension at the glass transition point of the above- mentioned particles + or -5 deg.C and the suspension is treated with, for example, a ball mill or sand mill to deform the particles. The polyvinyl alcohol in the liquid suspension is then saponified to separate the particles. The toner is thus formed. |
