PURPOSE:To form a minute recessed part on the surface and to hold and carry a uniform thin layer, while preventing the deterioration and the fusion of a developer extending over a long period of time by forming a groove of minute width being longer in the axial direction in a developing roller by ironing and performing and etching processing. CONSTITUTION:A non-magnetic sleeve 2 on a fixed magnet roller 3 rotates in the direction as indicated with an arrow (a) and from the inside of a developing container 1, a developer 5 is held and carried to a developing area A which faces a photosensitive drum 6 for holding an electrostatic latent image. In this case, on the surface of the sleeve 2 made of an aluminum alloy, a groove-like recessed part 22 whose average pitch is 1mum - 2.5mm and a smooth surface part 23 are formed by a drawing and ironing method first, and thereafter, a minute recessed part 21 is formed by an etching processing, by which a uniform thin layer of the developer is held and carried without causing the fusion and a satisfactory image having high density and being free from an uneven image can be obtained with a high production efficiency extending over a long period of time. |
