PURPOSE:To provide an aqueous emulsion containing a specific oxidation- modified liquid alpha-olefin polymer, a basic compound, etc., having excellent lubricity, free from danger of fire and suitable for hydraulic oil, cutting oil, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) an oxidation-modified liquid alpha-olefin polymer having a number-average molecular weight of 500-10,000, an oxygen content of 1-20wt.%, an acid value of 1-50 and a saponification value of 1-200 and produced by the oxidative modification of a liquid ethylenic random copolymer composed of 20-80mol% of ethylene component unit and 80-20mol% of a 3-20C alpha-olefin component unit, (B) a basic compound (e.g., alkali metal hydroxide or organic amine), (C) a nonionic surfactant (e.g., polyoxyethylene lauryl ether) and (D) water. |
