PURPOSE:To perform evaluation with high correlation with an actual engine by producing combustion exhaust gas with a specific air fuel ratio in a reaction container by a combustion gas method, then adding oxidizing or reducible gas, and exposing a sensor in the mixed gas and detecting its output. CONSTITUTION:Fuel gas and air are supplied as combustion base gas from a fuel gas supply device 3 and an air supply device 4 and burnt to produce the combustion exhaust gas with the specific air fuel ratio in the gas combustion chamber 5. The exhaust gas reaches the oxygen sensor 7 to be tested through a cylindrical port 6. Continuous supply gas is supplied continuously to the port 6 from a continuous gas supply device 9, an oxidizing gas supply device 10, and a reducible gas supply device 11 and the oxidizing gas or reducible gas is supplied by specific amounts by controlling solenoid valves 12-1 and 12-2. Consequently, the composition of the exhaust gas is set close to that of the actual engine and sensor characteristics with high correlation with the actual engine are evaluated. |
