Device characterised in that it is composed of an inclined fixed cylinder 1 inside which turns a helical structure 2 capable of causing the mussels to advance from the lowest end 11 of the cylinder towards the highest end 12, these ends being provided, respectively, with a hopper 7 for introducing the mussels to be treated and with an opening 8 for the exit of the treated mussels, the lowest zone of the cylinder being provided in its lower half with a zone 3 for cleaning the mussels, consisting of parallel bars oriented along the axis of the cylinder, whilst the highest zone of the cylinder is provided, in its lower half, with a zone 6 for sorting the mussels, consisting of parallel bars in the shape of an arc of a circle oriented perpendicularly to the axis of the cylinder. <IMAGE>
