The invention relates to a device for monitoring the level of a platform of weighing scales, in order to prevent display and/or printing of the weight when the platform is not in the correct position. It consists of two inclination detectors 1 and 2 which are sensitive to variations in inclination on each of the axes X and Y, of an electronic circuit 3 which processes the data given by the inclination detectors, four red LEDs 16, 17, 18, 19 and a green LED 23. When the platform of the weighing scales is inclined, the inclination detectors 1 or 2 are stressed and send a signal to the corresponding comparators, one of the red LEDs lights up to indicate the direction of the inclination, the state of the logic gate 22 flips from 0 to 1, leading to the activation of the optical coupler 24 which then sends a signal to the system for blocking the weighing analysis chain, leading to extinguishing of the weight display, and the displaying of an error message. The device according to the invention is intended for monitoring the correct position of the load receiver of an unfixed or mobile weighing appliance. <IMAGE>
