A small unmanned aircraft, which is remotely controllable from a control station for observing marine targets, has a small radar reflection area (RCS), typically 0.001-0.01 m<2> seen from the direction of threat, is operable to fly over a sea area to be monitored at a low velocity, and during the flight to record images for transfer to a control station where the targets can be identified and selected. The aircraft may be adapted also to attack an identified target, the aircraft itself or a warhead being accelerated to a high velocity and hitting the marine target from above at a pre-determined point. A propeller motor may be settable such that the flying velocity is below 30 m/sec, whereby the aircraft is indistinguishable by radar from seabirds. |
