PURPOSE:To reduce variation of a fused taper part and a filter interposition part with temperature by forming the part of a substrate which supports the fused taper part by using a material which as a heat coefficient of expansion nearly equal to that of optical fibers and forming the part of the substrate which supports the filter interposition part by a material which has a coefficient of heat expansion nearly equal to that of an adhesive for filter fixation. CONSTITUTION:The fused taper type optical component 11 consists of 1st and 2nd substrates 12 and 13 and fused taper type optical elements 14 mounted and fixed on those substrates 12 and 13. Then the substrate 12 is made of the material having the coefficient of heat expansion nearly equal to that of the optical fibers 15 and 16, e.g. the same quartz glass with the optical fibers 15 and 16 and the substrate 13 is made of the material which has the coefficient of heat expansion nearly equal to that of the optical adhesive for fixing wavelength-selective filters 18 and 19, e.g. brass. Consequently, characteristic variation due to differences in coefficient of heat expansion between the substrates 12 and optical fibers 15 and 16, and the substrate and optical adhesive is prevented. |
