PURPOSE:To detect the knock generated in all the cylinders at a prescribed S/N ratio or more by one accelerating speed sensor by fixing said accelerating speed sensor onto a bracket fixed onto an engine over at least two positions. CONSTITUTION:The ratio S/N between the noise N in the case when no knock is generated in an engine and the knock signal S in the case when the knock at a desired control level is generated is obtained. For example, in case of the block 31 of a six cylinder V type engine, the first - sixth cylinders 41 - 46 are arranged as shown on the figure, and bracket 61 is installed onto the block 31 at four positions 51a - 54a by bolts, and an accelerating speed sensor 62 is installed onto the bracket 61. Therefore, each vibration at the installation positions 51a - 54a is applied onto the bracket 61, and also the noise other than the knock signal is composed similarly, and the sufficient S/N for all the six cylinders can be obtained, and the actual use value for the knock of each cylinder can be obtained. |
