PURPOSE:To enable a magnetic tape to smoothly travel on the surface of a nonmagnetic metallic cylinder to be mounted with a magnetic head by forming this cylinder into the structure constituted with a layer formed of a superconducting material on the surface of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Just 15.13g, 52.89g, and 31.98g of Y2O3, BaCO3 and CuO powders are mixed by a wet process for 18 hours with 150ml ethanol and after the mixture is dried at 120 deg.C, the mixture is put into an alumina crucible and is calcined in air at 850 deg.C. The calcined powder is coarsely crushed and is further calcined. This powder is ground by a wet process in a vibration mill. The ground powder is molded by a wet process and is at 950 deg.C to form a target for sputterign having the compsn. YBa2CU2O7-x. The thin film of the superconducting material is formed on the surface of the nonmagnetic metallic cylinder made of an Al alloy to 0.1 to 0.5mum thickness by using this target. The magnetic tape is capable of smoothly traveling on the surface of the cylin der produced in such a manner if the cylinder is used by mounting the magnetic head consisting of Mn-Zn ferrite for VTRs to this cylinder. |
