PURPOSE:To obtain the photosensitive material which has high sensitivity and fogs less by incorporating at least two kinds of sensitizing dyes into silver halide emulsion layers having substantially the same color sensitivity and incorporating at least one kind of ascorbic acid compd. into the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive material contains at least two kinds of the sensitizing dyes in the silver halide emulsion layers having substantially the same color sensitivity and contains at least one kind of the ascorbic acid compd. into the photosensitive material. The term 'substantially the same color sensitivity' means as follows: The case in which the photosensitive material has photosensitivity to the wavelengths of any of a red region, green region and blue region is regarded to be substantially the same in the color sensitivity, if, for example, the photosensitive material is a general multilayered photosensitive material for colors and has the photosensitivity to the wavelengths of any of the red region, green region and blue region among the spectral wavelengths regions which the photosensitive material can sense.
