<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a stable, effective filter element in the process for solvent- coating a substrate with a dye-contg. positive photoresist composition to form a deposited layer by incorporating a photoresist resin and a specified dye into the composition. CONSTITUTION: A layer is formed on a substrate with a composition contg. a positive photoresist and a dye and with the dye soluble in the solvent of the photoresist. The predetermined region of the layer is exposed to the exposure beam suitable to increase the solubility of the exposed region, the exposed region is removed by contact with a photoresist developer, and the process is repeated by using the dyes of different colors in the composition. The dye constitutes 10% of the composition, is nonabsorptive in the exposure wavelength of the composition, has a predetermined absorptivity with respect to a specified filter element and has the same polarity as the composition. As a result, a multicolor optical fiber fucntioning as a highly effective filter is easily obtained.</p> |
