A system for attaching automotive trim (12) to a vehicle door (16) is disclosed. The system includes a weather stripping (20) adapted to be secured on a flange (22) of the vehicle (16). The weather stripping (20) has a member (26) for retaining the weather stripping (20) on the flange (22) and a member (38, 40) for sealing the weather stripping (20) with the vehicle (16). An automotive trim strip (12) with a retaining portion (44) is coupled with the weather stripping (20) to retain the trim strip (12) on the vehicle (16).
