<p>A control system for subsea oil production is adapted to fit into a modular three-dimensional template. The system comprises an umbilical lead bringing hydraulic and, optionally, electrical and/or fibre optic lines into a retrievable control tray 31 adapted to fit within the three dimensional framework. The tray has an inlet for the umbilical lead and outlets for hydraulic and optionally, electric and/or fibre optic cables, which lead into one or more retrievable control transfer modules. The modules are adapted to fit within the framework and have inlets mating with the outlets of the control tray, and outlets mating with corresponding inlets on modules of the subsea oil production system. The control system is designed to be lowered and installed in a guidelineless and diverless mode with ROV assistance from any vessel which can maintain its position, e.g. a dynamically positioned ship or a semi-submersible drilling rig. <IMAGE></p> |
