PURPOSE:To correctly perform prescribed operations by displaying various working contents when an old cartridge is removed to replace it with a new one. CONSTITUTION:As toner is replenished, the toner quantity is gradually reduced in a toner replenishment chamber 21. When the residual toner in the replenishment chamber 21 is below a fixed amount, a toner exhaustion detecting sensor 22 being a toner lack detecting sensor provided near the bottom of the toner replenishment chamber 21 detects it and outputs a signal. Together with the detection of toner exhaustion, a display device provided on the forward upper part of a copying machine main body 100 displays toner replenishment instruction. According to the contents displayed on the display device, an operator removes the old toner cartridge, sets a new one, performs prescribed operations, and surely replenishes toner to a developing device. |
