<p>PURPOSE:To attain the reading of a linear error in real time by detecting time difference between the split signals of two channels, and adjusting the linearity of a tape mat. CONSTITUTION:Signals regenerated from first and second heads 3 and 4 are amplified by head amplifiers 10A and 10B, and synchronizing signals (a) and (b) are separated from the signals at a synchronous signal separation circuit 11. Time difference deviation between the channels is detected by a time difference detection circuit 12 based on the signals (a) and (b), and a signal C representing the linear error is taken out by a D/A converter 13 as an analog signal. The curve of the linear error is displayed in real time on the screen of an oscilloscope, and mechanical adjustment is performed so as to minimize the error. Also, the above adjustment can be performed in spite of the flatness of the envelope of head touch, etc. In such a manner, it is possible to read the linear error in real time, and to consider the error of a master tape.</p> |
