PURPOSE:To obtain optimum differential limiting characteristics regardless of magnitude in differential rotation by providing a variable orifice which throttles a passage to an accumulator chamber when the fluid chamber pressure is below a specified pressure, and opens the passage in accordance with the fluid chamber pressure when it exceeds the specified pressure. CONSTITUTION:A variable orifice 72 is comprised of an orifice plate 73 attached to a gear base part 40 with bolts 74, and a retainer plate 102. When the internal pressure of a cylinder chamber 60 is below a specified pressure, the variable orifice throttles a passage to an accumulator chamber 90 by orifice grooves 73a of a retainer plate 73, and when the internal pressure exceeds the specified pressure, the retainer plate 102 is adapted to be flexed and deformed to open the passage to the accumulator chamber 20 by the addition of enlarged amount of the orifice passage due to the deformation of the retainer plate.
